Amanjena is located just outside the ancient city of Marrakech. The resort’s design emulates the old Moorish buildings, as well as the Berber villages that cling to the High Atlas Mountains. The 32 pavilions, 6 two–storey ‘maisons’ and the largest accommodation, the Al–Hamra suite, are set within an oasis of palms and mature olive trees. Some of the attractively decorated rooms boast a private pool.
The restaurant features a scalloped onyx fountain ringed by olive trees, 80 onyx columns, wood screens and a retractable pyramid skylight. It serves a la carte Moroccan home–style dishes, as well as a selection of international courses.
The heated outdoor 33–metre swimming pool is finished in green tiles and bordered by hibiscus flowers. Two clay tennis courts, lit for night play, are available. Amanjena offers a variety of guided excursions on foot, bicycle or private car into the medina, the souks and squares, palaces, gardens and craft shops of ancient Marrakech.
