Situated near the storied Kakadu National Park, Bamurru Plains sits at the edge of one of the most significant ecosystems in Australia. Dominated by the climatic extremes of the tropical monsoon, the wetlands and savannah woodlands that fringe the coastal regions harbour an extraordinary diversity of flora and fauna. A profusion of bird and wildlife are on the doorstep of a unique bush camp that brings a touch of style to a remote and beautiful wilderness.
Each of the nine luxurious safari bungalows has been designed to expose guests to the sights and sounds of the bush. The main lodge includes a swimming pool, outdoor deck and an indoor dining and bar area.
It is the local knowledge and passion of the guides that brings the experience alive, included in the stay are air boating on the floodplains, as well as guided walks and drives in the savannah. Boating on the Sampan River is possible on certain tides and usually reveals a number of large crocodiles. Day trips to tour the Aboriginal rock art galleries of Kakadu and Arnhem Land can be arranged as can specialist fishing guides.
