Cousine Island, a privately owned nature reserve, offers the ultimate escape with friends or family. Accommodation for up to 10 guests is in four elegantly appointed Villas in French–Colonial design, situated only 30 metres from the beach amongst indigenous flora and fauna. Guests have a sense of ownership, sharing the island only with their travel companions and 15 staff.
The Pavilion has an open plan dining room, bar, lounge and air–conditioned library overlooking a large fresh water swimming pool. The Beach House is home to a small rustic Ligne St Barth Spa. Activities include exploring the 25 hectare island with the resident conservation officers, snorkelling, kayaking and water sports. Day expeditions to explore other islands, sailing, fishing or diving can also be arranged.
Restoration of woodland, reintroduction of rare native species and ecological monitoring are seen as crucial activities. A symbiotic relationship has been developed whereby the very presence of people on the island is of key importance to its life balance, by staying on Cousine Island the guests contribute to the funding needed to secure its future.
