Doro Nawas Camp is situated on a rugged, rocky hill on the edge of the dry Aba Huab River and offers arresting views of the Etendeka Mountains and sandstone cliffs of Twyfelfontein, famous for its San rock engravings.
This chic retreat has built up an enviable reputation owing to the camps close working relationship with the local community. All staff have been sourced from the surrounding villages.
Accommodation consists of 16 thatch and stone chalets. The large, open plan chalets boast a big bedroom, bathroom and private veranda on which, during warmer nights, guests can wheel their beds so as to sleep under the stars. Similarly, wholesome meals can be served either indoors or outside on rooftop dining areas. A pool area, curio shop and small gallery leading to a picturesque courtyard, the perfect place for a sundowner or spot of stargazing, complete the line up. Activities, meanwhile, revolve around game viewing in the Haub River Valley where desert adapted elephants are the star of the show.
