With a decor inspired by travels to England and France, Hotel Abtei, originally built in 1897, was turned into its present state in 1978 with the addition of the famous Prince Frederik restaurant in 1989.
The individually decorated rooms of the hotel encompass a classic English design complete with bright yet subtle hues and huge windows for ample light. Adding to the charm of room number seven is the Porcher bathtub that is snuggled in an alcove. The atmosphere of each room and the hotel exudes comfort, luxury and style.
The gourmet meals can be enjoyed by the fireplace in the charming restaurant. One of the first gems to be discovered in Hamburg, the hotel enjoys proximity to the artificial lake, Alstersee which is frequented by locals and tourists for fun water activities and sports that is thronged by people from dawn to dusk. To enjoy the charm of days gone by guests can also visit the elegant town house that is only a few steps away from the hotel.
