Situated on the south west coast of France in the resort of Biarritz, Hotel Du Palais evokes an age of style and grandeur.

The hotel, originally built as a Summer mansion by Napoleon III for his wife Eugenie, was devastated in a fire in 1903. A year later it was rebuilt as a luxurious hotel, which, in the intervening years, has attracted many celebrity guests including Sarah Bernhardt, Charlie Chaplin, Ernest Hemingway, and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.

The main hall, the private salons, the dining room and the grounds have all maintained their Second Empire style. Opulent antique furnishings set the tone for the aristocratic magnificent sweeping staircase. It is once again the jewel on the magnificent beaches of Biarritz.

The 156 air–conditioned rooms and suites are tastefully decorated with an atmosphere of calm and tranquillity. Most rooms have separate dressing rooms, some have small balconies, while the fourth floor suites enjoy a superb menu, catering for everything from a formal dinner with international cuisine to lunch around the pool.

During the day guests can relax around the heated outdoor pool with direct access to the beach.
