Kulala Wilderness Camp is situated 40km south–east of Sesriem, on a private reserve which borders the Namib–Naukluft National Park. Accommodation at this camp consists of ten simple yet stylish ‘kulalas’ with private verandas, en–suite solar–heated bathrooms and sundecks. All rooms are built of stone and canvas and on elevated platforms that afford unrivalled views of the valley and mountains beyond.
The main area has been built on two levels. On the lower level lies an inviting swimming pool surrounded by a wooden deck, shaded by a low thatched roof while upstairs there’s the indoor dining area and lounge boasting luxurious leather sofas set around low wooden coffee tables.
Further afield, there’s plenty to see and do but the standout is an excursion to the nearby world–famous Sossusvlei – an enormous clay pan, flanked by the famous red sand dunes that have developed over millions of years, the wind continuously refashioning their contours.
