La Mamounia lies sheltered within the walls of the old city of Marrakech, its Art deco design in perfect harmony with its Moroccan architecture and magnificent centuries–old gardens. Ornamented columns and splashing fountains combine with marble floors and graceful archways to create a suitable opulent haven from which to explore this fascinating city.
The rooms and suites reflect the warmth and style of the 1920’s, their large windows overlooking either the picturesque central courtyard or the splendid Koutoubia Minaret. Several of the suites are individually themed. The pool, with its buffet grill, is usually the daytime centre of attention, although other recreational facilities include a Spa, tennis courts, as well as two nearby 18–hole golf courses.
A distinctly cosmopolitan choice awaits when it comes to dining, pampered guests are able to decide between the gourmet fare of the Marrakech L’Imperiale, the traditional favourites of Le Marocain, the Venetian dishes of L’Italien and the French cuisine of L’Orangeraie.
