La Mirande, originally a cardinal’s palace dating from the time of the popes in Avignon, remains today one of the most perfect examples of the period. Located in a tranquil cobbled square at the foot of the Popes Palace, protected from the noise and bustle of the town, the hotel offers guests the comfortable elegance of its 18th century interiors, a secluded garden, terraces and the quality of life in former times.
Each room reflects a perfect well–being which offers an invitation to let go and rest. The stylish interiors feature painted wood panelling accentuating a different wall tapestry, reprint of the ancient exuberant Chintz or Toile de Jouy that match the silk lined curtains.
The gastronomic restaurant provides delicious cuisine reflecting the changing seasons, in the understated atmosphere of the lounges. In the basement, the wood oven is back in service for cooking lessons and the table d’hôtes.
