There is no more suitable name than Maricel for this lovely property. The name refers to its wonderful position, a place where the sea merges with the sky. It holds a unique spot between the royal palace of Marivent and the village of Portals Nous, but is still only 5 minutes from the centre of Palma. The story begins in the forties when the  businessman Victorio Luzuiaga decided to create an international hotel with a marked cosmopolitan “feel” to accommodate a discerning clientele.

The Hospes Maricel reopened it doors after 14 years in 2002. Now in the hands of Hospes Hotels & Moments, who carried out an impressive refurbishment that maintained the historical singularity of the building, but with many high tech innovations such as 32” televisions, DVD–players, Hi–FI system and an ADSL internet connection. The remodelling of the guest rooms was carried out with 3 precepts in mind: Comfort, Space and Light. This, in order to create and promote a feeling of rest and relaxation in harmony with the surroundings.

The Mediterranean character is present throughout the Hospes Maricel never more so than in the kitchen, where the Chef’s design menus around only the best local produce. One other aspect that sets this jewel apart from the others are the airport transfers which are carried out by boat directly to the hotel’s own pier. Arrive in style!
