The River Club lies dreaming in dappled shade overlooking the Zambezi River, 18 kilometres upstream from Victoria Falls. Its main area is a well–appointed Edwardian–style house, with a comfortable lounge, large dining room, impressive library and wide veranda. The swimming pool has been built to seem part of the river itself, flowing seamlessly from one into the other. A secluded deck with hammocks and loungers provides respite, and beauty treatments are available in the massage tent.
The ten luxurious, thatched chalets feature a split–level bedroom and en–suite bathroom. One side of the chalet is completely open to the river, giving guests an uninterrupted vista of the shining Zambezi and glorious African sunsets from both bed and bathtub.
Boating to the Zambezi River’s islands provides relaxed afternoon activities, and fishing, sundowner trips and visits to the Falls are offered. With the Zambezi National Park just across the river, hippos and elephants are regularly seen. Birdlife is particularly rich and tiger fishing is a challenge for real fishermen.
