Susuwe Island Lodge lies on an island in the Kwando Rover in northeastern Namibia. Accommodation consists of just six stylish thatch suites, making Susuwe Island ideal for anyone after privacy. In addition to a double bedroom, bathroom with window–height tub and lounge, each spacious chalet is equipped with a private deck boasting a plunge pool and wooden viewing platform – the perfect place from which to view the island’s array of flora and fauna for the river nourishes delicate ecosystems while also ensuring an abundance of game and birdlife.
The lodge’s main complex is set under lofty canopy of trees with viewing decks overlooking endless savannahs, glistening lily–studded wetlands and ancient Kalahari woodlands. There’s also a library, lounge and dining area, fire pit and curio shop should, heaven forbid, guests get bored of the view.
Activities and excursions range from boat trips and river cruises to guided walks and game drives through Bwabwata National Park.
