Xakanaxa Camp, located in the northern sector of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, is one of the few Okavango lodges which offers comprehensive year–round boating and mokoro trips, as well as extensive nature drives into excellent game country. The permanent lagoons and waterways of the Okavango are located to the north and west of the camp, while the dry woodlands are situated to the south and east.
The truly authentic safari camp accommodates only 24 guests in 12 spacious tents set on the banks of the Khwai River, each with a private viewing deck. All tents offer en–suite facilities with showers, flush toilets and wash basins. An elevated, thatched–roofed main dining room and bar overlook the Xakanaxa Lagoon, and feature a covered lounge, a swimming pool and a fire deck. Xakanaxa Camp manages to maintain the rustic style and atmosphere of an original safari era long gone.
Activities include boating on the Okavango waterways with visits to the heronries, Mokoro excursions on the surrounding floodplains, game drives in open land rovers through the Moremi and excellent bird watching.
