Space Adventures pioneered space tourism by assisting the world’s first private explorers to realize their dream of spaceflight. Each participant spent approximately 900 hours in Star City training with Russian cosmonauts in preparation for their spaceflight and each completed an awe–inspiring mission to the International Space Station.

Individuals who wish to fly to the International Space Station need to be flight certified by passing Space Adventures’ Orbital Flight Qualification Programme. Candidates train at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Star City, Russia, familiarizing themselves with the Soyuz TMA, performing mock launch and re–entry simulations, learning how to live and operate aboard the ISS and conducting other mission–specific training exercises. A variety of programmes are offered such as spaceflight missions to the International Space Station and around the Moon, cosmonaut training, spaceflight qualification programmes and reservations on future sub–orbital spacecrafts.
