4x4 Adventure – The Mongolia Traverse

This expedition style trip is a great way for those who like overlanding to get acquainted with Mongolia and the different aspects that make up the traditional Mongolian ways of life. The traverse starts in the Gobi desert, and then heads north to an area known to the Mongolians as “the paradise of the horse herders”. The trip continues over the Hangai mountain range and across the 100 Lakes plateau, to finish up on the shores of Huvsgul Lake, one of the world’s largest freshwater sources.

This challenging 4x4 adventure includes full–day hikes or rides over moderate terrain and occasional steep trails, or long driving distances on rough roads. Guests overnight in expedition style camps or stay with nomadic families. The trip covers a lot of ground and each day the travellers drive through changing scenery, stop to visit a tribe, soak in a hot spring and see some of the best of Mongolia’s natural, historical and cultural attractions.
