Soniat House
The quiet and intimate Soniat House offers an elegant respite from all the revelry out on the streets of the boisterous entertainment of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Built in 1829, this enchanting house compromises three historic Creole town–houses on opposite sides of Chartres Street. In each building the entry is a carriageway leading to a sunlit secluded courtyard surrounded by lush gardens and exotic plants.
Soniat House is a classic of its kind. It has been lavishly restored and furnished with a lifetime’s collection of antiques and objets d’art. All rooms and suites express its own character and are decorated with supreme comfort and elegance.
Breakfast is a daily rite. Cafe au lait, freshly baked biscuits and conserves are served in the guest’s suite or in the garden by an attentive and friendly staff. For other meals, the concierge will recommend where to eat, where to shop and how to get there within walking distance.
