The international historic motor racing event Goodwood Festival of Speed is held in the beautiful parkland surrounding Goodwood House and is a fixture on the summer social calendar.
Over 300 cars and motorcycles gather in Goodwood Park for a summer celebration of racing machinery, from early Edwardian steam cars to current F1 racers. The theme for the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed, to be held from 29 June to 1 July, will be ‘Young Guns – Born to Win’, celebrating drivers and riders and designers and engineers whose supreme talent and insatiable thirst for speed shocked the establishment, affording them immediate superstar status.
Complementing the overall Festival of Speed theme will be a host of other attractions at the Festival. Aside from getting close to the action-packed hillclimb and paddocks, Festival-goers will be able to admire some of the most stylish vehicles ever designed at the Cartier ‘Style et Luxe’ concours d’elegance, see and potentially try the very latest road cars at the Moving Motor Show exhibition, and become a part of the action at the off-road activity fields and Junior Festival of Speed. Goodwood Festival of Speed is an extravaganza of speed and colour – come and experience the sights, sounds and smells of the world’s most glamorous sport in the magnificent grounds of Goodwood House.
