Situated on the Masuwe Estate, only 10 minutes from the centre of Victoria Falls town, adventurers will find a group of lion cubs, which may range in age from 3 to 16 months. These lion cubs offer guests an unparalleled experience of the behaviour of this threatened species in Africa. Guests interact with two or three lion cubs for a period of approximately 1,5 hours. The lions roam free with guests in the African bush in the riverine vegetation and beautiful scenery situated on the banks of the Masuwe River. Guests may even be lucky enough to experience the young cubs on a stalk on some of the wildlife species that occur on the property.
During interaction, the guide will give an informative talk on the lions and their relationship with man. Above all, guests will be advised about Safari Par Excellence and African Encounter’s long term plans for rehabilitating the lions back into the wild. By going on this walk, guests actually become part of this programme and a direct contribution towards the research and conservation of the ‘King of the Beasts’ will be made from the fee they paid.
