Sanctuary Ananda, a luxury river cruiser sailing the rivers of Myanmar

For an adventurous experience that enriches you with culture and heightens your taste, discover the Sanctuary Ananda – a luxury river cruiser sailing the rivers of Myanmar.

Being custom-built to travel the river perfectly, using traditional materials by local craftsmen, the Sanctuary Ananda first set sail in November 2014 as the only all-balcony vessel present on the Ayeyarwady. The Sanctuary Ananda is styled in sleek, contemporary luxury for your comfort, offering 20 elegant suites plus an outdoor sundeck, pool and the Kansi panorama lounge.

From the floating haven that is the Sanctuary Ananda, experience a side of Myanmar that’s rarely seen: temples, pagodas and palaces will unveil their beauty during your journey.  Also expect to visit the majestic Ayeyarwady between Bhamo and Yangon and several mysterious monasteries along the way.  Sailings on its great tributary, the Chindwin, will invite you to places visitors rarely see – through the jungles of the north, ancient towns and quaint villages that have been long forgotten.

Aboard the Sanctuary Ananda, each suite and deck area was built to for the comfort of its guests. Focusing on not only luxury, but local culture to provide the most natural of cultural experience embedded with the luxuries we all love; great service, delicious food, a range of fine drinks and a large comfortable bed. Suites are stocked with Egyptian-cotton sheets and L’Occitane products in the ensuite bathrooms, along with Wifi and individually controlled air conditioning, a lounge area in addition to the wonderful private balcony.

The Sanctuary Ananda is committed to its level of service, with providing high guest to staff ratios, hand selected ingredients and providing custom menus in both local and international cuisines. Relax and enjoy in the onboard Thambyadine Spa with a range of treatments including traditional Thai massage or keep on top of your fitness in the gym.

Daily itineraries are available for perusal on your journey as the ship sails each full day you’re onboard. Choose from interesting excursions on your journey or enjoy the culture from the comfort of the Sanctuary Ananda. Cruises start with 3 days up to 11 days with varying trips between Bagan and Mandalay and so on.  Ahoy, sailor!
