The Ultimate Travelling Camp camps move around India, showcasing the very best of what each of the two regions that the camps are always located in, have to offer. The regions that the camps are located in are Ladakh and Nagaland.
The Chamba Camp, Thiksey is in the shadow of the dramatic 15th Century Thiksey Monastery. All the tents in the camp are centrally heated with air conditioning, butler service and offer a private terrace overlooking the spectacular landscape. At night the 15th Century stupas and gardens are sensitively lit. Campfire dinners are truly a memorable experience where the award winning cuisine offers guests the chef’s family recipes interspersed with fusion cuisine.
Staying in the Chamba Camp gives guests the unique opportunity of witnessing first-hand the Kalachakra Festival. The Kalachakra Festival is a world renowned event in the Buddhist calendar, with the event being conducted by his Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The Kohima Camp, Nagaland is hidden away in the North Eastern part of India. The tents at Kohima Camp are centrally heated with air conditioning, butler service and come complete with a private terrace that overlooks the awe inspiring scenery that is synonymous with this region.
The Kohima Camp coincides with the ten day Hornbill Festival. The festival is a cultural display of the sixteen participating tribes. Each day showcases sports, crafts and religious ceremonies.
