Hacienda Zorita is an enchanting hotel-bodega
An ancient Dominican monastery, right on the river Tormes is home to the hotel Hacienda Zorita with a history dating back to 1366. Sandstone walls and wooden ceilings are complemented by eclectic decoration. Ancient trees and religious works of art contrast with contemporary paintings and modern facilities. Located 10 kilometres from its centre, Salamanca which in 1988 was declared a Cultural World Heritage site by UNESCO and is home to the second oldest university in Spain founded in 1218. The astonishing hotel is also close to Avila, Segovia and Zamora, surrounded by history and amazing nature.
Each room features beautiful views of the vineyard or the river and is individually decorated. Onsite the wine cellar has 1,366 barrels with the estates’ own wine and the hacienda boasts an organic farm. Zorita’s Kitchen offers slow food and casual dining by Michelin star Chef Victor Gutierrez. Enjoy luscious afternoon tea, a country-chic lunch at the vineyard or an entertaining outdoor movie night. The wine spa offers a wide range of relaxing treatments including vinotherapy.
