Hippo Point in Kenya, a luxurious estate on the shores of a beautiful lake
Kenya highly values its great African wilderness, and there are numerous parks, reserves, and conservatories established throughout the nation, and the outstanding eco-touring luxury resort of Hippo Point is located in the Lake Naivasha National Park, which lies in between the Hell’s Gate Gorge National Park and the Kingono Game Ranch, about 60 miles northwest of Nairobi.
Lake Naivasha is very proud to be one of the premier birding spots in East Africa, and of course, the waters of the park also attract thousands of other species of wildlife. The staff will be happy to organise bespoke wildlife tours of the region on a bespoke basis. The resort is located on a small peninsula that separates Lake Naivasha from the small pond called Lake Oloidien, and between these two clear waters are some of the finest luxury accommodations in Kenya. The Hippo Point Estate features several refurbished buildings from Kenya’s colonial period, including the 1932 Manor House, and the Dodo’s Tower. The estate also offers it’s guest the comforts of a twenty-meter swimming pool, and in the Manor House a perfectly cosy library and fireplace are available to all guests.
At the Hippo Point estate, there are fourteen rooms available, as well as villas. The Manor House includes eight roughly equivalent single rooms, and there are two sections of the House set off for children. The Dodo’s Tower offers four doubles and one single on the ground floor, including four balconies and writing rooms for guests. All rooms are furnished with four-star amenities, and your hosts at Hippo Point will be glad to arrange bespoken spa services for you in your room. The estate serves meals for all guests in family style each day, at various locations on the estate, and all meals and beverages are included in the boarding expense of your stay.
