Hotel Montalembert

Discover a hidden jewel in the heart of the Left Bank, the Hotel Montalembert

One of the most charming hotels in Paris, the Hotel Montalembert pioneered the boutique hotel movement, being one of the world’s first. Meeting at the crossroads of fashion and the arts, the hotel is ideally located in the heart of the Left Bank, a five-minute walk to the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church and the Orsay museum. Comprised of 50 rooms, including 10 suites, Hotel Montalembert is adjacent to Rue du Bac, the longtime home to many antique shops and art galleries and more recently, pastry and chocolate shops.

The hotel was built in 1926, living through many great moments during the interwar period, and so many prosperous and glorious times ever since. For its 90th birthday in 2018, the Hotel Montalembert treated itself to a renovation masterfully conducted by architect-decorator, Pascal Allaman, with the lobby décor and carpet design entrusted to Géraldine Prieur, an interior designer. Some of the rooms and suites on the 6th through 8th floors offer spectacular city views including the Eiffel Tower and St. Thomas of Aquinas church. The rooms, with yellow and orange tones, allude to a revisited Haussmann style. The restaurant is centrally located in the hotel and has for decades been a magnet for writers in the literature world, along with the library and fireplace area.

The bar at the Hotel Montalembert, with its Carrara marble counter, hosts several literary prizes and social events every year while the terrace attracts the trendy set during nice weather. The hotel also features the Carita Spa, with innovative wellness experiences.  This charming hotel offers guests an intimate and unforgettable experience.
