Discover the amazing South African Winelands at Leeu House
The Leeu Collection is the manifestation of the vision of founder Analjit Singh (aka BAS) for sophisticated escapes and unique guest experiences. The hospitality portfolio currently comprises three five-star boutique properties in South Africa’s Winelands: Leeu Estates, a 17-room country house and boutique winery in the Franschhoek valley; Leeu House, an exclusive 12-room hotel in the heart of Franschhoek village; and Le Quartier Français, a romantic 32-room hotel including two independent villas, also located in the village. The first acquisition outside of South Africa was Linthwaite House, a 36-room country retreat overlooking Windermere in England’s scenic Lake District. The individually styled bedrooms feature superbly comfortable beds with high-quality linen and are fitted with sisal carpets, and curtains and upholstery in natural linens, contributing to the relaxed yet sophisticated feel. The luxury en-suite bathrooms have marble floors, free-standing baths and/or generous showers, underfloor heating and heated towel rails.
Set in the vibrant epicentre of Franschhoek village, resident guests can enjoy leisurely meals in The Conservatory or al fresco on the terrace. Guests of Leeu House may also use the complimentary Leeu shuttle to Leeu Estates in order to experience a tutored wine tasting at Mullineux and Leeu Family Wines, use the Leeu Spa & Gym or simply enjoy walking through the Estates manicured gardens and vineyards. Leeu House, is a serene oasis on the main street of vibrant Franschhoek, is set in secluded gardens with a large pool and terrace. Surrounded by award-winning restaurants, wine farms and specialty shops, guests are spoilt for choice.
