Mad about Mud, Polaris RZR XP 1000 EPS High Lifter Edition
Designed to tackle power-sapping obstacles like swamps, mires, deep mud and marshes, the side-by-side Polaris RZR XP 1000 EPS High Lifter Edition brings together an immense amount of power and agility in a packaging that is certain to appeal to outdoor loving adrenaline junkies.
Oozing super cool looks, the RZR XP 1000 EPS High Lifter Edition is powered by the latest Polaris ProStar® 1000 engine featuring 999 ccs of big bore twin displacement, dual overhead cams, electronic fuel injection, and 4 valves per cylinder. The throttle instantaneously releases the available 110 hp, boosting the revs to unleash a whiplashing torque. Combined with the ludicrously aggressive looking 29.5 inch High Lifter Outlaw II tires, reduced gearing and larger reverse chain on this RZR, the power & torque are distributed exactly where you most need it to plough through mud at unimaginable speeds.
High intakes for the engine, clutch and exhaust keep the water out and the fresh air coming in, while all the vent lines are integrated into the cab frame to keep them free of debris.
In order to make sure that all of the RZR XP 1000 EPS High Lifter Edition’s power is moving along smoothly and precisely without battering your spine, Polaris have fitted a race-inspired 3-link trailing arm rear suspension serving up an incredible 18-inches of rear wheel travel, while the dual A-arm front suspension delivers yet another impressive 16-inches of travel.
By using a combination of new stiffer springs and single stage Walker Evans shocks, ground clearance is maintained – even when your RZR’s overall weight increases due to the amount of mud you are collecting along the way – while still providing a plush ride as you race through your favourite muddy backcountry roads.
The revamped front drive system features a close ratio final drive to keep the front wheels pulling longer and stronger, optimising power delivery to the ground. In the unlikely event that you would get stuck then please rest assured that the 4500 lb Polaris-engineered winch will get you out of the most embarrassing situations.
Taming mud in your RZR is obviously never going to be as lavish as being chauffeured around in a Rolls Royce Phantom or Mercedes-Maybach. Nevertheless, Polaris have managed to combine all-day comfort and high-performance by adding some welcome tweaks and add-ons such as deep side bolstered bucket seats with 50% more padding – and a Dryseat waterproof internal membrane – providing superior comfort. The front cabin of the RZR XP 1000 High Lifter Edition features a high performance steering wheel with 10″ tilt adjustability and a centrally located storage box places everything within reach, including the re-designed glovebox. Footrests and adjustable seat sliders allow the driver and passenger to quickly fine-tune their seating position.
Steering also requires less effort thanks to the revised suspension geometry and Electronic Power Steering (EPS), nevertheless offering unequalled control.
The factory installed full doors do an excellent job at keeping the mud out, but just in case Mother Nature is – literally – throwing everything she has at you, then the new removable floor drains might prove very useful in order to quickly and easily washout debris and mud.
With Polaris’ RZR XP 1000 EPS High Lifter Edition, exploring swamps or tackling muddy backcountry roads becomes a walk in the park… although a very fast walk!
