Palazzo Giovanelli Gran Canal - Heritage Restored & Luxury Reborn in Venice

Built in the sixteenth century as a noble residence of the Coccina family, it first passed into the hands of the Foscarini and then the Giovanelli, hosting a series of eminent personalities: in the eighteenth century it was the residence of Marco Foscarini, future Doge of the Republic of Venice, of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in visit to the city with his father, and Frederick Christian IV, King of Denmark.

The elegant architecture, rich in polychrome marble, and the sumptuous interiors of Palazzo Giovanelli, enriched with frescoes and decorations of the time, invite you to relive and savour the glories of Venetian history comforted by amenities of modernity.

Inside the Palace, original ceilings with exposed beams and wall rosettes frescoed with mythological figures by Giovanni Battista Zelotti set the scene, while all stuccos are still appreciable and perfectly preserved in all their beauty - as well as restored under the supervision of the Superintendency of Fine Arts of Venice -. To culminate, sixteenth-century decorations abound all over, along with an eighteenth-century secret passage in the apartment that once belonged to the Doge Foscarini, leading to a now exclusive suite.

Right on the Grand Canal, between San Stae Church and Cà Pesaro, the Museum of modern Art, Palazzo Giovanelli is a luxury boutique Hotel with 33 rooms and suites, with the Signature Suite Mozart of 120 m2 and the Signature Mozart Foscarini room (92 m2) - both of them with stunning balconies overlooking the Grand Canal.

Palazzo Giovanelli offers you a memorable stay in Venice, starting from the 'in style' arrival to the dock on the Grand Canal via water taxi to the delicious meals at the bistro champagnerie.
