Imposing horses and a breathtaking scenery at the Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz

For decades, St. Moritz has been one of the prime mountain destinations among the world’s elite. Since 1985, this prestigious European ski resort has also served as the host to one of the most unique winter tournaments.

The Snow Polo World Cup, the world’s only high-goal polo event on snow, takes place in St. Moritz during the last weekend of January. For three days, the enchanting, frozen St. Moritz Lake becomes a polo field in one of the most luxurious events of the winter season.

The beautiful alpine landscape provides a perfect backdrop for this adrenaline-infused horseback sport. The special atmosphere you’ll witness at the Snow Polo World Cup is hardly comparable to any other similar event. You will have a chance to enjoy both the action-packed games and the enchanting vistas of the Swiss Alps.

Although the games are the main highlight of the tournament, you shouldn’t miss a chance to enjoy the accompanying program, which includes several VIP social events. St. Moritz is also home to some of the best alpine hotels and restaurants. A visit to the Polo Restaurant-Bar Chesa Veglia is an absolute must. There you’ll have an opportunity to see the coveted Cartier Trophy, the award given to the winner of the tournament, and savor some of the finest gastronomic delights in St. Moritz.
