Chinzombo Lodge, wildly luxurious with lush wildlife
Nestled in the fertile lands of the Luangwa Valley in Zambia, Chinzombo Lodge is the latest bush-camp to be opened by Norman Carr Safaris. Designed to be ‘wildly luxurious’, Chinzombo Lodge is exceptional and presents all the comforts of modern living in the middle of nature and its majestic wildlife.
Merging together the minimalist aesthetics of modern architecture and the traditional and organic Zambian structures, Chinzombo Lodge is unique and a sight to behold. Set in an expanse of private land, and scattered with giant and ancient trees, Chinzombo Lodge is graced with the tranquil view of the Luangwa River. There are six stunning villas to choose from; one was created to suit families and small groups.
Each villa is a shaded platform with space for watching wildlife, relaxing and taking in the sights of the bush, and each comes with a private pool, large cooled sleeping areas and immense bathrooms. Lounge in spacious living areas that seem to connect seamlessly to the wild and lush outdoors. Look forward to top-notch meals that are a treat to the taste buds. Chinzombo Lodge has earned a reputation for serving delicious meals, even in the midst of the bush. For connection to the world from your exclusive enclave Wi-Fi is available, and the villas also come with yoga and exercise areas, spa facilities and the presence and guidance of the most senior members of the legendary Norman Carr Safaris guiding team. As the philosophy of Norman Carr Safaris is to treat nature with the respect she deserves, the villas are designed with cutting-edge green power and technology.
Chinzombo Lodge is open all year round – perfect for catching the different facades of the bush that you so desire. The ‘green season’ (December to April) is the best time for bird-watching, as migratory birds of various species and plumage flock to the Luangwa Valley. If you arrive between January and early April when the rivers and tributaries are teeming, there will be plenty of opportunities for game-viewing and to take part in the Rivers & Rainbows Safaris. The month of May is a busy time for the bush; the plains will be overrun with impalas. June and July offer cooler climates, and from August onwards, you will be able to catch views of large herds of elephants and buffalos.
As Zambia has not been spoiled by massive tourism, her vast lands of wilderness remain pristine and untouched. Luangwa Valley is the one of the best places in Africa to watch wildlife – see leopards, wildebeest, elephants, buffalos, and crocodiles. Catch the magnificent sight of pods of hippos and pride of lions. View antelopes and zebras graze freely in their untouched habitats.
Norman Carr Safaris provide a range of safaris and ventures that will stoke the adventurer in you. Take a walking safari and seek out wildlife on foot, or hop into a boat and explore the rivers. There are safaris for both the keen adventurer and the leisure seeker, and for a completely personalised experience, you can have a safari tailor-made just for you.
