Minaret Station offers a premium alpine experience, allowing guests to explore the wilderness of the South Island accompanied by an experienced, friendly team. The Alpine Lodge is the perfect base for experience their range of Heli-Adventures range from guided fishing and hunting to heli-skiing in New Zealand.

With a high country, luxurious experience being their aim, the Minaret Station team take pride in their hospitality. The Alpine Lodge is set at the head of a glacial valley among untouched landscapes, creating a picturesque setting to enjoy the beauty of the Southern Alps.

Started as a family business in the early 1960’s, Sir Tim Wallis began introducing international visitors to the wilderness that surrounds New Zealand. Today, you’ll find Minaret Station is run by Tim’s four sons, each drawn to the outdoors, that equally head-up the team. Each putting their knowledge, passion and experience into their expeditions and the running of the Alpine Lodge to produce memorable experiences, repeatedly loved by their guests, whilst still keeping the charm of Minaret Station’s humble beginnings at its core.

Being based within the Southern Alps, Minaret Station Alpine Lodge is a contrast from the wilderness with its embracing comfort. With its exclusive feel, Alpine Lodge is only accessible by helicopter, allowing guests to enjoy the rugged atmosphere of real New Zealand and its mountain landscapes from comfort and luxury.

Accommodation can be found in individual chalets, each positioned separately and among native alpine grass and herb fields for the guests to really get the most out of their surroundings as well as privacy. Warmth and comfort are also at the heart of the chalets, designed with luxurious interiors and furnishings and finally, featuring a hot tub on a private deck.

Linking the chalets is a range of raised boardwalks which will lead each private, individual chalet to the Mountain Kitchen at the heart of Alpine Lodge. Guests will also find two separate lounge areas accommodating wood-burning fires, a well stocked library, cellar and dining facilities. Your chef prepared cuisine is inclusive to your stay at Alpine Lodge with breakfast, lunch, pre-dinner canapés and dinner, as well as beverages and local wines.

Excursions and adventures can be added on to your stay at Minaret Station Alpine Lodge with a whole range of actives to enjoy the culture of the Southern Alps. With flights, boating, biking, skiing, fishing and hunting on the agenda, as well as picnics, hikes and tours, there’s a part of the New Zealand wilderness for everyone to explore in their own way, with guidance from Minaret Station.

Aside from the Minaret Station Alpine Lodge, Minaret Station is also home to a working high country farm. Tens of thousands of deer, sheep and cattle are raised on site by the Minaret Station team for supply to both premium export and local markets.
