An exceptional remote mountain refuge overlooking the mythical Aiguille des Drus
Dating back to the 1880s, the Terminal Neige Refuge du Montenvers stands out for its exceptional setting. Perched on the northern slopes of the Mont Blanc massif at an altitude of more than 2000 metres, and accessible only by railway from Chamonix, the property overlooks the Mer de Glace glacier and the mythical Aiguille des Drus.
Originally built to accommodate intrepid mountaineers and explorers, an extensive renovation by the Maisons et Hotels Sibuet brand, in collaboration with the Compagnie du Mont Blanc, has recreated the convivial atmosphere of this remote mountain refuge.
Warm, wood-panelled doubles, dormitories and family rooms cater to couples, incentive groups and expeditions who come to ski, climb and hike in this magical mountain setting, fuelled by the gourmet Savoyarde cuisine served at Le Panoramique bistro and Montenvers restaurant.
After the last train departs for Chamonix at the end of the day, guests are enveloped in the serenity and silence of the unique location.
