Enjoy an exciting Indian jungle safari at The Oberoi Vanyavilas
The north of India is a vast land of desert and jungle, a land of fertile plains filled with villages and farms, and a land of wetland and swamps where tigers hunt. All of these contradictory settings can sometimes be found within an hour’s drive of each other, and that is nearly the case in the mountains and valleys of Ranthambhore. Just a hundred miles southeast of the metropolis of Jaipur, the Indian state of Rajasthan develops numerous hills and valleys, made beautiful by erosion, and the Ranthambhore National Park and Tiger Reserve, established in 1980, is located in one of these valley made thick with forest. Just north of the park, where the plains runs up to the hills, you can find a grand garden and a superb boutique hotel, called the Oberoi Vanyavilas Ranthambhore.
The Vanyavilas are laid out on twenty acres of gardens near a watering hole favoured by the local wildlife that live in the park, and an observation tower looking south allows the guests of the hotel to take in a panoramic view of the Ranthambhore hills. During your stay at Vanyavilas, you can explore the luxurious grounds of the hotel and discover the lily pond near the northern end, the mango orchard in the east, the hotel’s amphitheatre in the west, and the beautiful 12-meter temperature controlled swimming pool in the centre of the estate. Your concierge will be happy to guide you around the grounds accompanied by the hotel’s own horticulturalist, as well as provide bespoke tours of the Ranthambhore Park and the neighbouring region.
The Luxurious Tents of the Maharajahs
The Oberoi Vanyavilas of Ranthambhore is a genuinely grand estate, featuring 25 villas, all air-conditioned and featuring triple-canopies for weatherproofing. Each suite features a private courtyard, and unique and individualized interior designs and décor, all inspired by the impressive caravans and safari from the days of the rajahs and princes. The suites include teak flooring and curtains formed from beautiful natural linens, and there are standalone bathtubs, separate adjustable showers, and silken bathrobes in every lodging. Guests may also visit the Oberoi Vanyavilas Spa, located near the centre of the estate, and featuring a wide variety of classic massage services and beauty treatments, as well as several Ayurvedic therapies and the Spa’s own the Signature Indigenous Rituals. The hotel’s fitness centre and swimming pool are directly adjacent to the spa.
Wild Encounters in the Indian Jungles
The Oberoi Vanyavilas will be happy to provide its guests with bespoke tours of the nearby Tiger Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the Rantahambhore Fort, located high in the hills above the Park’s lake, and featuring outstanding vistas of the entire region – accessible only by hiking up the long stairway from the north eastern side. Jungle Drives can be arranged on a bespoke basis, and the Vanyavilas can also provide chartered boats for the Chambal River Safari, which flows through the National Chambal Gharial Sanctuary, where guests can observe the strange crocodilians known as the gharials in their natural habitat. Upon returning to the hotel, guests can enjoy outstanding examples of Indian Cuisine from our chefs at the hotel’s Dining Room and Bar, where bespoke menu are easy to arrange. After dinner, you can relax by the hotel’s warm fireplace, enjoying the lavish comforts of India and remembering the Ranthambhore wonders of the day, courtesy of the Oberoi Vanyavilas.
