The Lodge Verbier

The Lodge Verbier, elegance and bespoke luxuries in the Swiss Alps

In the south of Switzerland, the Rhone River is born from the melting Rhone Glacier at the base of the mountain called the Klein Furkahorn. The river begins to wend its way westward, towards Lake Leman and Geneva, before passing on to French territory. In the Swiss province of Valais, where the Rhone approaches as close to Italy as it ever will, the city of Martigny is where you depart the riverbanks and take Motorway 21 wending through the Alpine valleys to the village of Sembrancher, where you will find the Route de La Vallée, which continues upwards into the Alpine heights, all the way to the skiing paradise of Verbier. At the southern end of the town, you can find the secluded and luxurious Lodge Verbier, a member of Richard Branson’s Virgin Unlimited consortium of hotels, on the slopes of Mont Gelé, the location for fabulous skiing.

Lodge Verbier is a beautiful three-story chalet in the classic mode, with balconies featuring logged railings at every window, and oaken beams crossing the ceilings. The staff will be eager to help you plan your visit with either summer or winter bespoke activities, according to your interests and energies. Throughout the year, guests can enjoy the hotel’s nine-meter indoor pool, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, and the game room provided for their entertainment. In the heart of Lodge Verbier stands the cozy lounge with fireplace, perfectly designed for the delights of the après-ski evenings. The hotel is very child-friendly, awarding visiting kids with the rank of “Lodge Ranger,” and staffers will gladly arrange treasure hunts and digital games, as well as babysitting services, on a bespoke basis.

Lodge Verbier features a total of nine guestrooms, capable of serving a total of eighteen adults in seven individually designed and decorated luxury suites, as well as two upscale Master Suites, all featuring excellent views of the Alpine valley and town below. The Bunk Room, stocked with beanbag seats and three bunk beds, can serve six children and is the perfect way for kids to enjoy their stay on their own terms. The hotel provides space and staff for excellent spa treatments, arranged on bespoke terms, and especially appreciated by guests who have enjoyed the ski slopes more than they expected to, and a fine gymnasium is open to all guests.
