Wa Ale Island Resort

Wa Ale Resort, an intimate island retreat amidst an untouched tropical paradise

Myanmar’s undiscovered Mergui Archipelago is so remote that it has largely been off-limits for foreign visitors. The new Wa Ale Island Resort, situated on one of these lush isles, provides a rare chance to experience an untouched tropical paradise, where the greatest luxury is its pristine nature.

An environmentally and socially responsible project, Wa Ale features eleven Luxury Tented Beach Villas sit right on the dazzling sands and three Treetop Villas tucked into the forest canopy, all built using local river stone and reclaimed wood. Complementing these are two restaurants supplied by the kitchen gardens and local fishermen whose catch comes straight from the crystalline surrounding waters.

Part of the Lampi Marine National Park, Wa Ale offers natural adventure in abundance. Snorkelers and scuba divers can swim among manta rays, turtles and dugongs, whilst kayakers and paddle boarders can venture up rivers, through mangrove forests and into hidden caves along the untouched coast, discovering an island that remains just as nature created it.
